How many relevant roles will you send me each week?

We send you a few roles each week, focusing only on those that are truly worth your time. We prefer to share three strong matches instead of thirty uncertain ones, and you choose which ones to follow up on. Our software scans hundreds of listings daily, but a person reviews the shortlist to make sure it fits your profile before anything is sent to you. If there are not enough good matches in a week, we will let you know instead of sending roles that are not a good fit.

Who writes the tailored resume and cover letter?

A person builds your resume and cover letter for one role at a time, from your own record, and edits them before you see them. We use the actual job description to make sure your resume and cover letter match the role, rather than a generic template. If you get an interview, we will also help you get ready for it.

What does a person actually check?

Every claim in your resume and cover letter traces to something you told us. If we cannot find where a line came from, it does not go in. A person reads every role before it reaches you and decides whether it is worth your time. A person edits every application before you see it. Most of them change substantially in that pass.

Do you submit applications for me?

Accepted Answer

On the Plus plan, we can, if you'd like us to. On Lite and Standard you send every application yourself, and on every plan nothing goes out under your name until you've approved it. We prepare the tailored resume and cover letter, and on the Plus plan a short message for the recruiter or hiring manager, sent with your go-ahead.

What happens if there are very few suitable vacancies?

If there are very few suitable roles, we let you know and expand the search. That might mean similar job titles, nearby cities or remote positions. On the Plus plan, with your go-ahead, it can also mean reaching out directly to companies you like. Our software keeps searching in the background while we adjust the criteria, and you'll always know what we are trying next, instead of getting a list of roles that don't fit.

Do you contact recruiters and hiring managers, or only apply to advertised jobs?

On the Plus plan, yes. For each role, where we can find the hiring manager or recruiter, we send them a short message written for that role and that person, with your go-ahead. With your go-ahead, we also contact companies on your target list that are not advertising. The Standard plan doesn't include outreach, and you get a written guide to contacting hiring managers yourself.

Can you target specific companies, and can you avoid specific ones?

Yes, we can do both. Tell us which companies you want to target and which ones to avoid, including any past employers, and we will follow your list for every search. Targeted companies get the same tailored resume and cover letter as any other role, and the Plus plan adds outreach. The avoid list is a strict rule, so any company you name will stay out of your feed for as long as you want.

How is a human involved, and how much is automated?

Our software does the first scan. Then a person reads the results, builds every application role by role, and checks everything before you get it. The software looks through hundreds of listings each day to find roles that fit your profile, which would be too much for a person to do alone. A person edits everything you receive, including your resume, your cover letter and, on the Plus plan, any hiring manager message, for that specific role.

How long does it usually take to get a first interview?

It depends on your field and the market. Some clients hear back within days and others take a few months, because every market moves at its own pace, so we can't promise a date.

Why $95 and not $900?

Accepted Answer

US reverse recruiters usually charge between $900 and $4,500 a month. We charge $95 a month on the Standard plan, or $195 a month on the Plus plan with outreach to hiring managers, because we are based in Cape Town. Running our service from Cape Town keeps our costs much lower than US agencies, and we pass those savings on to you. You still get the same tailored resumes, cover letters, and interview prep as a $900-a-month service, but with a flexible, month-to-month plan instead of a long contract.

What happens if I don't get interviews?

If the service does not work for you in the first 15 days, you get a full refund. After that, you can cancel at any time. The refund covers your first payment, so you can try the service without risk except for the time spent reviewing the first matches. After 15 days, you stay on a month-to-month plan and can stop at the end of any billing period without any pressure to stay.

Is the free resume review actually free, and what do I get?

Yes, it's free and you don't need a card. A real person reads your entire resume and sends back a written report, typically around 1,800 words. It opens with what's working, then covers five or six specific problems, each with a headline and the fix written out. It closes with a priority order, so you know what to fix first and how long each fix takes. It arrives within 48 hours, and it's a one-time report.
